At the start of the week, Graham McCosh layed a single course of blocks around the basement to serve as boxing for the floor slab.

On Thursday Kevin Bartlett's boys poured the downstairs slab.  It was a lovely sunny day and the garage floor has come up beautifully (most important as it has no other covering on it).

We piled lines of sand in the doorways and flooded the slab like this for 4 days to prevent the concrete drying out too quickly and cracking.  In addition, the garage concrete has been cut into 4 with a diamond saw.  It all seems to have worked as there are no visible cracks anywhere.
