Week 17

15th - 21st July 2002

Rain cleared up just enough this week for the Butynol guys to do their stuff.  2 of the 3 flat roof areas have now been completed as well as the crows nest which means that the house is essentially weather-proof.  We've also installed a wood burner at the top of the stairs which is not only helping to dry everything out but is also great to have in the cold weather.  Most of the polystyrene sheets are also in place, as is the glass-block frame which is ready for glazing.

View from Kitchen area through to the Lounge (with a DRY floor at last!!!)

Wood burner.

The finished timber floor height (recycled Tawa) will be flush with the hearth and bridge.

There has been loads of packing work in the entrance/gallery in preparation for the gib lining.

Back of the house looking more completed - Most of the roof tiles are on and lead flashed, Butynol on crows nest roof, Velux window installed, Glass block frame between entrance/gallery and patio, polystyrene.

Poly Experts - Pete and his son Hayden.

Looking up into the crows nest from inside.  The staircase should be ready soon and will no doubt be the next challenge to install.
